JEFF SLOAN
Pueblo West
Jeff Sloan is the editor of a technical trade magazine and has been a Pueblo West resident since 1994. His wife, Sheila, has been a history teacher at Pueblo West High School since 2006. Jeff and Sheila have three boys, all of whom were educated in District 70 schools, culminating with their graduations from Pueblo West High School in 2013, 2015 and 2018.
Jeff has been highly involved in a variety of extracurricular activities in support of Sheila and his kids. He helps coach mock trial with Sheila, judges at speech and debate competitions (which all three boys participated in), does guest-speaking, and has provided guidance and support to students pursuing post-high school education opportunities.
TERRIE TAFOYA
Mesa
Terrie Tafoya retired from Pueblo School District No. 70 after 33 year as a teacher and school Administrator. She attended District 70 schools, Avondale Elementary, Excelsior Junior High and graduated from Pueblo County High School. She has worked with members of the community and employees of School District 70 on several bond initiatives throughout her career and retirement.
John Klomp
Mesa
Mr. John L. Klomp began his career at Pueblo County High School in 1966, as a teacher, then served as vice-principal and principal for many years. He moved to the administration building in 1984 as the associate superintendent for District 70. After his many years with the school district, he continued to work diligently for the County he loved as a two-term County Commissioner. He continues his hard work for the school district and the county as a member of this bond committee.
